  My favourite forest that's just north of the GTA. If you enter off the main Hwy 48 there is parking and washroom facilities, there is also a small pond close to the entrance. The trails here are wide and flat so very easy for every level and variety of activities. If you find the 9th line entrance, I first cycled there- you'll see some pretty spectacular old growth forest, with bluffs of hemlocks. You initially walk down and into s valley and come across the creek with a bench across.. if you take side paths.. the ones leading south just a bit in from 9th line.. you will venture into an old hemlock forest that's surreal. Complete with a boardwalk crossing the creek. I have seen guided tours here so you can inquire at office.

  This trail has the York Region Forest Headquarters with an education centre, so there's lots to see and do, and there are accessible trails here. This is a very beautiful, wooded trail, so bring the bug spray. Good place to see the trilliums in early June, but also lots of poison ivy so stay on the trails. The trail runs from Hwy 48 to 9th Line, and is accessible from either side, although there is more parking on the Hwy 48 side.
